Thanks for having us

It seems like things are said and done that I don’t want to forget almost every day now. There are very few dull moments, even in that quiet stillness immediately before sleep.

As Lindsay lay drifting off last night, and I was just about ready to set her in her crib, she emphatically announced, “I have a GINA, dad.” That’s with a hard ‘i’, as in ’siren.’ Yeah, can you tell who’s been learning about body parts? Not wanting to leave me out, she assured me, “You have a peenit, dad.” Indeed I do.

Dinner these days is also very eventful. Tonight, Lindsay surprised us both by refusing EVERY food item offered to her. Huh, what a surprise. While I was trying to explain the consequences of her refusal to her, such as “no Elmo” and “no donuts” (leftover from earlier), she put on her best fake smile and I cracked up. Busted.

She finally agreed to “eat” some cheese, and proceeded to play with it while calling out, “Elmo, come heeere!”. Jenn explained that Elmo was probably eating dinner right now and couldn’t come over. So she collected all of her cheese pieces and says, “I’m taking these to Elmo.” This girl is good - busted again.

Over the weekend we had Grammy over, which was a treat. We went out for a nice dinner Saturday night, which always makes for an adventure. As we were collecting up the pieces, Lindsay said goodbye to everyone (in the restaurant, that is), then turned to our server and said, “Thanks for having us!”

You guys need to set-up one of those ‘reality’ video cameras to capture Lindsay’s daily commentaries! She is truly priceless… and filled with wisdom.

And there is something extra special about that two year old angel greeting and singing “Happy Birthday” to her Grammy, all while brushing her teeth with Grammy’s toothbrush, too!

    Love and {{{HUGS}}}~
