Too much to even recall

I guess I’ve been putting off an update because I keep thinking, “I should be systematic in cataloguing all the great new things Lindsay has been doing.” Well, I’m afraid that logic is hopelessly flawed — she’s at the point now where new things happen every day. Jenn and I are like the proverbial frog in the pot of water, too, in that we tend to notice new things less and less, and then one day somebody asks what great and wonderful things she’s doing, and we have no clue what to say. Amanda (one of my students) asked me that a few days ago, and I stammered and stuttered and finally came up with something. Lindsay has started mimicking the way we count to her — you know, the really sing-song style of counting where the pitch ends a lot higher than it starts. Well, she does that now. Only she doesn’t (usually) use the numbers in the right order (although she’s getting pretty good at 1 - 3 I must admit). So she’ll say, “One, twooooo, fiiiive, sixxxxx!” It is absolutely precious, and as I was leaving for work this morning I heard her counting to herself in her crib like this.
