Wolvertown

intermittent updates from chronic underachievers

A New Look

Welcome to the latest revision of Wolvertown! In addition to some visible new features, I’ve also done some things behind the scenes to make things faster, I hope. As you can tell from the actual, real web address, I moved the site out of my lab and on to a real web host. I also moved the pictures out of the gallery software I was using and onto Flickr, and cool (free) photo sharing site. It allows comments, just like the previous system, and it’s less of a hassle for me. You can see the albums by clicking the Photos link above, which will display them within the blog, or you can go directly to our Flickr gallery at http://www.flickr.com/photos/wolverton. So many choices, huh?

With all this talk about Flickr, I would be remiss if I didn’t encourage you to sign up for your own free account. It’s super easy to use, and it gives you something to do with all those photos just sittin’ on your hard drive. If you do, be sure to let me know what your user name is so I can add it to my link list!

There are now two options for getting notified about Wolvertown updates. As always, you can subscribe to the RSS feed for this site. If you have no idea what I just said, go read this article. Subscribing to an RSS feed is kind of like programming the radio stations on your car stereo - you get a ‘broadcast’ from sites you want to hear from. As the link above describes (of course you read it, didn’t you?), you’ll need a news reader program to really take advantage of RSS. My favorite (for the Mac, of course) is NetNewsWire, the free version even. The second option for updates is to subscribe to the email notification list over in the sidebar on the right. You’ll receive an email whenever a new post happens here.
