intermittent updates from chronic underachievers

Wow, It's Been Over a Month Already

I’m so lame, aren’t I? It’s already been a month since the last post. What a great month it was, too. I took a lot of time off work - and actually off, too. Meaning ‘not working’ and ‘not thinking about work.’ It was great. Alas, now we’re back in the groove again, or at least trying to find the groove. Anyway, the girls are both napping on this lazy Sunday, so I thought it would be a good time to write an update. Mmmmm... pecan rolls Christmas was divine, frankly. Yeah, we lost power for a day, and yeah, it was a major bummer that two of our favorite people couldn’t make it back to town, but still, it was good. Lots of baking, and eating, and cooking, and eating. Things like pizza (which Lindsay pronounces closer to how it’s actually spelled, like my Grandma used to) and cookies. We made a pork loin for the big show, slathered in garlic and rosemary and grilled on the Weber. Of course, we had to have Grammy’s famous pecan rolls, which turned out phenomenal again. It was so nice to have a house full of people we love, with nowhere to go and nothing to do (except stay well-fed). It made us want to buy a frickin’ big house in Delaware (or wherever we land) and make ‘em all come back every year. It was that good.
